Our Dogs

I've admired German Wirehaired Pointers for years, and several of my friends have bred outstanding dogs that excel on Western chukar. These dogs have tremendous drive, incredible endurance, and the ability to cover big country all day long.

When I decided to add a German Wirehair to my program, I was looking for a dog with the range and independence to really stretch out in the field. I was fortunate to acquire Pepper from Ghost Point Wirehairs, and she has exceeded every expectation.

Pepper comes from an exceptional litter. Her littermates, Savvy and Riggs, can be seen hunting wild birds across the country on Eric Forrester's YouTube channel, showcasing the natural ability, drive, and versatility this breeding consistently produces. Pepper has proven herself to be every bit their equal, and you can watch her in action on our own YouTube channel, Sky Island Gun Dogs.

Rue is an exceptionally talented bird dog with an outstanding natural nose and remarkable bird-finding ability. She consistently locates birds from impressive distances and has a knack for finding birds that other dogs have missed. In the field, she is relentless, displaying the drive, intensity, and determination that make her a truly exceptional hunting companion.

At home, Rue is the perfect balance to her field performance. She is affectionate, calm, and easy to live with, embodying the hallmark "off switch" that makes the Braque Français such a wonderful family companion. She is everything we love about this remarkable breed.

Puppies from Rue's first two litter's are already showing the same exceptional nose, natural bird sense, and wonderful temperament that make her such a special dog. We are thrilled to see her qualities being passed on to the next generation.

Wren is out of Rue and Peaks. Peaks, owned by Ashley H., is a talented Braque Français with a powerful, ground-covering run and an impressive natural ability in the field.

From an early age, Wren has shown all the qualities we look for in a promising young Braque Français. She is developing into an exceptional bird finder with a big, animated run that is well beyond what you would expect for her age. She is already pointing and handling birds with the confidence and intensity of a much more experienced dog.

Just as importantly, Wren embodies the wonderful temperament the Braque Français is known for. In the house, she has a true "off switch," settling in calmly and making an outstanding family companion.

We are excited to watch Wren continue to mature and look forward to seeing her begin her first hunting season. We have high expectations for this young female and can't wait to see her reach her full potential.
